WHOU 100.1 FM will broadcast local games again

Four local high school basketball teams prepared for the opening of the 2008-09 season last weekend at Houlton’s Alumni Gymnasium.
This Friday night, the Houlton boys and girls will open on the road in East Millinocket at Schenck High School, with the girls game at 5:30 followed by the boy’s contest, while the Greater Houlton Christian Academy girls and boys will be at home on the University of Maine at Presque Isle floor to Van Buren at 5:30 and 7 p.m. and the Katahdin boys travel to Mars Hill to face the defending state champion Panthers at 5:30 and 7 p.m. at the Panther Palace.

WHOU 100.1 FM will open their season broadcasting the Katahdin-Central Aroostook boy’s game, with the pre-game starting about 6:30 p.m. Ken Holck is in his 11th season calling play-by-play, with newcomer Jon Codrey (former CAHS and UMPI player) joining him courtside. Rob Moran and Gloria Austin are back as color commentators, with Dan Cullen, a former Katahdin High School player, joining the team this season.
