PRESQUE ISLE – The Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for various awards that will be handed out during its annual dinner scheduled for early next year. “We’re currently accepting nominations for Citizen of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award. Applications are available at all financial institutions in Presque Isle, through local service clubs and here at the Chamber office, located at 3 Houlton Rd.,” said Theresa Fowler, executive director of the PIACC.
Nominations can be dropped off at the Chamber office or sent to: Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce, c/o Theresa Fowler, PO Box 672, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
Last year’s winners included Richard ‘Dick’ Graves as Citizen of the Year for his continuing efforts to preserve the city’s history through books and articles, as well as Tom and Kathy Peary who received the Lifetime Achievement Award for their dedication to Scouting. Previous winners also include: Lifetime Achievement – 2007, Caroline Gentile; 2006, Audrey Thibodeau; and Citizen of the Year – 2007, Timothy McMahon; 2006, Bob and Linda Graves. Other awards have included Business of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
