SOMERS, CT – Dale G. Hannan, 69, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was born in Houlton, the son of the late Mervyn and Faye (Bither) Hannan. Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from work in customer service for Eastern Airlines and Canada Air-Bombardier Co.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, soul mate, and best friend, Denise C. (Fournier) Hannan of Somers; six children, Scott Hannan and his companion, Tara Kelley, of Ellington, Wayne Hannan and his wife, Lori, of Somers, Dorothy Forbes and her husband, Patrick, of Enfield, Mark Hannan and his wife, Oy, of California, Eric Hannan of East Windsor, and Heidi Bearse and her husband, Phil, of Vernon; daughter-in-law, Wendy Hannan, and her fiancé, Jeff Spak, of Stafford Springs; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vivian Fortier and her husband, Earl, of Florida, Vina Sawyer of Maine, and Barbara Smith and her husband, Ervin, of Maine; a very special sister-in-law, Evelyn Hannan of Somers; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his dog and faithful companion, Coty. He was predeceased by six brothers, Gerald, Blaine, Paul, Cedric, Keith, and Chester Hannan.
The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at the Suffield House and St. Francis Hospital for the care they gave Dale.
Family and friends were invited to celebrate Dale's life on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Somersville Congregational Church, Maple Street, Somers. Burial will be held privately at the family's convenience.
