    The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department will be offering numerous activities during the February vacation break.
Games Galore will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 9-11a.m. for children in grades Pre K – 6.  Wear sneakers and comfortable clothes. Children will be playing a variety of games. Cost is $5 per child and limited to 24 children.     Sneakin’ In Science is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19 from 9-10 a.m. for Grades 2-3 and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for Grades 4-6.  Each hour will be filled with new science concept through hands-on experiments. Wear play clothes, as experiments may be messy. Cost is $10 per child and is limited to 10 children per hour. Instructor for this fun program is Sarah McQuarrie.
Arts & Crafts is Friday, Feb. 20 from 9-11 a.m. for Grades Pre K-6.  Wear play clothes, as crafts could be messy.  Cost is $5 per child and limited to 24 children.
Registration is required for all programs, call the rec department at 532-1310 by February 13.
Open Gym & Game Room Hours During Vacation
The Houlton Recreation Department will be open the following hours during the February vacation break for youth: Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15 from 1-4 p.m.; closed on Monday, Feb. 16 to observe the Presidents holiday; Tuesday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 22 from 1-4 p.m.
Youth must be in Grades 2–12 to stay alone to open gym and game room hours. Children in grade 1 or younger must be with an adult.  Supervision will be provided at all open hours.  For more information, call the Houlton Recreation Department at 532-1310.
Vacation skating hours at Millar Arena
The Millar Civic Center will be open the following hours during the February vacation break for children: Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15 from 1-4 p.m.; closed on Monday, Feb. 16 to observe the Presidents holiday; Tuesday, Feb. 17 through Thursday, Feb. 19 from 1-3 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 20 from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 21 and Sunday, Feb. 22 from 1-4 p.m.
Admission fees: $4 for adults; $3.50 for students; $2 for senior citizens; free for children under 6 years of age. Skate rentals are $2 per pair.
New aerobic class to begin
The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for the new eight-week session of aerobic class. The program will begin on Monday, Feb. 23 and will be held each Monday and Wednesday from 5-6 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building.
Cindy Hutchinson will be the instructor. Cost for this program is $40 for Houlton residents and $60 for non-Houlton residents. Class is limited to 20 participants. To register, call the Houlton Recreation Department at 532-1310 by February 23.
