Last Saturday was Valentine’s Day and the Chocolate Festival, a fund-raiser for the Caribou Children’s Discovery Museum was very sweet, indeed.

“I cannot thank you all enough for your help and volunteering your time at the Chocolate Festival,” stated Nancy Chandler, president of the CCDM, “it was a wonderful day. When I looked into the faces of all those children and their families, I saw they were all so excited and having a great time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
The second annual Chocolate Festival held last Saturday brought out chocolate lovers of all ages. A steady crowd filed into the Caribou Wellness Center beginning at 10 a.m. with a large crowd still on hand at 3 p.m.
There was certainly something for everyone at the festival. From a huge array of chocolate baked goods to truffle making demonstrations, Karaoke with Fireman Fred, chocolate oriented games, pudding eating contests, fishing for chocolate, drawings, face painting and of course what’s a festival without the Shrine Clowns.
“I do not have the emails of all the kids or family members and friends – people who baked, worked or provided workers but I want to extend my heartiest thanks to all who helped in making this wonderful community event such a huge success.” said Chandler. “This certainly helped to bring us closer to our goal of having a children’s discovery museum in the County. I think we will clear approximately $6,200. It’s wonderful, community spirit is alive and well,” she continued.
