PRESQUE ISLE – Marion S. Brittain, 80, died early Sunday morning February 15, 2009, at a Caribou health care facility. She was born on March 2, 1928, in New London, Conn., the daughter of Harold H. and Marion (Beckwith) Cornet.
She worked as a nurses aid in the State of Connecticut prison system for many years, and then for Visiting Nurses of Aroostook.
Marion is survived by a son, Gary Welch and his wife Connie of Easton; a sister, Mary Broga of Niantic, Conn.; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by two husbands, George H. Brittain and William F. Welch.
