Skating rink drawing PIMS students outside

To the editor:
We, the members of the Presque Isle Student Council would like to thank the following people for everything they’ve done to make a skating rink possible at Presque Isle Middle School: Chief White and the Presque Isle Fire Dept.; Jim Kaiser and the staff of the Presque Isle Forum; Brian Cronin, PE Teacher for Presque Isle Middle School (PIMS); Sandy Curran, Facilities Director for PIMS; and Mr. Tib Caron, SAD 1 Facilities.     This skating rink is keeping kids active and entertained. Many have never tried skating and this new experience has been healthy and exciting. The on-loan skates have been an important part of this project. This is promoting lifelong fitness skills and memories.
The cold temperatures have impacted our physical activity. The rink motivates this school population to get bundled up, get up and go out. Their time and efforts are immensely appreciated each day the rink is utilized.
