Kennedy Bencivenga, a 6-year-old from Limestone, has adopted a sugar maple tree at Spring Break Maple & Honey in Smyrna and, with help and supervision from sugarmaker Kevin Brannen, recently tapped her tree and hung her sap bucket to collect sap. When asked if she wanted to put her name on her sap bucket, she responded “No, it is a boy tree so I will call it Tommy.” She is the daughter of Anthony and Wendy Bencivenga and granddaughter of Thom and Carol Cote, all of Limestone.
