LIMESTONE – Ethel Herring, 68, passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at an Orono health-care facility. She was born March 13, 1941, in Limestone, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Michaud) Obar Sr. Ethel was a graduate of Limestone High School and after her marriage became a homemaker. She was a communicant at St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone.
She is survived by a daughter Cynthia Hopwood and her husband Matt of Eielson-Air Force Base in Alaska, a son Clay Herring of Florida, and five grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers: Fred Obar Jr. and Lawrence Obar.
A memorial service was conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Friends called from 2 p.m. until time of service. A reception to follow onsite at the funeral reception hall. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Louis Cemetery, Limestone.
