Friday, February 27, was Caribou's Celtic Night. To start the evening off, an original Irish meal was prepared for the citizens of Caribou. Then a short story from Kathy Mazzuchelli. “Some Irish descendants couldn't grow potatoes in Ireland. So they migrated over to Maine.” This performance was part of the Caribou Sesquicentennial, or Caribou's 150th anniversary. Caribou's 150th anniversary celebration will be going on all year long.

Members of The Maine Dance Academy performed during the recent Celtic Celebration held at the Caribou Performing Arts Center. The evening of food, foot-tapping music, and dancing was sponsored by Caribou’s 150th Sesquicentennial committees.
There were many wonderful performances, including a trio with Kelly Moody, Danielle Lane, and Erin Buck, but the finale of the Celtic Night was Caribou's own The Maine Dance Academy. The groups from TMDA that came to Celtic Night was Allen, Petite Troupe, Tiny Troupe, Mini Troupe, Troupe, and Sparks. TMDA perforrmed a few selections from their many different types of dances. Dancers from CMS that preformed at the Celtic Night were Hannah Hebert, Meredith Sleeper, Haley Hunter, Delaney Williams, Dominique Hessert, Emma Jandreau, Nick Jackson, Samantha Camy, Kelsie Washington, Samantha Adams, Kate Finnemore, Molly Adams, Emily Soderberg, Anna Soderberg, and Jillian Flynn.
Sameer Panesar was there to take photos of the whole event.
