have you ever thought, what was protecting your heart?
just a rib cage and a little muscle; easy to tear apart.
it’s amazing, for all that we’ve been through; it’s still in there
workin’ like a horse and beating like a snare.
have you ever realized, trust is given out every day?
but 8 out of 10 times; it’s given back in the harshest way.
it’s amazing, for all that we’ve been through; we give out trust tomorrow.
have you ever spoken, about the actual changes we’re going through?
the history that is being made and how our country is growing new?
it’s wonderful, for all that we’ve been through; we work harder for a better future.
going green and saving it as well, less pain that we all will have to endure.
and as you sit there, thinking how to protect your heart.
making it less capable of being torn apart.
and realizing, to not give out trust easily every day.
making sure no one give it back in a harsh way
as you are speaking, about the changes we’re going through.
how we’re developing and growing new.
find a way to accept those who have had their hearts torn apart.
find a way to, no matter the consequences, give your trust to everyone, every day.
find a way to speak what you believe is right for our future.
because we only have one life, and this is no lie;
don’t take life too seriously, we never make it out alive.
