HOULTON – At presstime, Town Clerk and Registrar of Voters Cathy O’Leary reported overall voter turnout to accept or reject the 20-year loan of $1 million for road and sidewalk repair was light and had been all day.
O’Leary said by 4:45 p.m. only 218 residents out of 4,294 registered voters had exercised their franchise.  She did say in an off-year election there is not a big turnout with only 150 to 500 or 600 voters showing up at the polls.
