Gentile Hall is located on 181 Main Street on the University of Maine campus in Presque Isle. It first opened to the public on January 21, 2006 and was named after Caroline D. Gentile; the longest faculty member at the University. Gentile Hall provides many different activities including a multipurpose court allowing you to play basketball, indoor soccer, and badminton. They also have an exercise room accessible to members and visitors. In this room, there are different types of fitness machines. There is also a window in the room with a grand overview of Gentile’s impressive indoor pool. An elevated walking track is also available to all visitors and members during operational hours. Each day the track changes allowing walkers to go in a clockwise or counter clockwise direction. Eleven times around the track is equivalent to one mile. The pool has a diving board and a handicapped accessible area if needed. The rock wall and the pool can be rented by groups for various activities such as birthday parties or fun get-togethers at a reasonable expense.
Passes and memberships are also offered at Gentile Hall. Passes are available on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Memberships can be purchased for a summer, semester, or full year.
