The soldier is off on a mission
Hoping his family can handle the transition

The family hopes and waits for his arrival
They hope he will be back for the family revival
They make a huge dinner
Watching the day grow thinner and thinner.
The plane pulls up beside the American flag
His bags are packed and all tagged
As he slowly steps up the luminous steps
He thinks of his family with no regrets.
The taxi pulls into the driveway
The family stands in the doorway
The father comes out to greet his son
His tour is all done.
They bring their beloved soldier to the table
This exquisite meal is imperishable
As they sit in their seats and pray
They realize their family is complete in every way.
