CARIBOU — Leslie Randolph, physical therapist and manger of rehabilitation and imaging services at Cary Medical Center has been appointed chairperson of the State of Maine Board of Examiners in Physical Therapy. The membership of the board voted her chairperson at the February board meeting. The Board of Examiners operates under the State of Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation Office of Licensing and Registration. Kris Doody, RN, CEO at Cary noted that having health professionals from Aroostook County appointed to state-wide boards is important. “This is a wonderful achievement for Leslie who is such an outstanding professional,” said Doody. “It is also important because it brings another voice from the County to an agency which has statewide influence.”
Shawn Anderson, chief operating officer, at Cary Medical Center said that the appointment of Randolph to the chairmanship of the board recognizes her long-standing commitment to the field of physical therapy and her passion for quality. “Leslie has led our Rehabilitation Services Department to become a very strong and comprehensive service,” he said. “She has served on the Board of Medical Examiners for several years and this appointment is certainly an honor for Leslie and we congratulate her on the accomplishment.”
Randolph came to Cary Medical Center as a physical therapist in 1995 and ultimately was named manager of the Rehabilitation Services Department which now houses physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy and athletic training. In 2007 she later accepted additional responsibility as manager of imaging services.
The State Board of Examiners in Physical Therapy was established to assure Maine citizens the highest standards of practice of physical therapy. The primary responsibilities of the Board are to conduct examinations of candidates for licensure to practice physical therapy, to verify credentials of applicants, to license and renew upon documentation of continuing education activities, to conduct hearings and investigations upon receipt of complaints pertaining to physical therapy.
