Each cat that comes to Halfway Home Pet Rescue dba Madawaska Lake Homeless Cats, has a sad tale to whisper and actions often clearly tell of previous abuse. Tommy recently came to us from a Stockholm farmer who discovered him in his barn. Tommy had been the subject of abandonment —a drop off. He was an intact male, who fought with the male cats in the farmer’s barn and also had a very sore nose which had been burned (very likely by a cigarette. Soon after his arrival, we found Tommy was actually a very loving cat with a huge fear of being hurt again. We are thankful for the farmer for bringing him to us, for the foster home that worked with helping Tommy regain trust while his nose healed and the wonderful Caribou man who decided to give Tommy a chance for a good home. Tommy loves to tease and play with female cats. His problem at the farm was needing to find a place to call his very own. A home for Tommy. He needed to heal and trust again before he could accept other cats and people.
