POPULAR RITE OF SPRING – The John Millar Civic Center in Houlton was the scene of the 22nd annul gun show, sponsored by the Rifle and Pistol Club. Answering questions at the popular Smith & Wesson exhibit were employees Paul Harrison of New Limerick, left, and Dan Soucy. Harrison is the secretary/treasurer of the local sportsmen’s organization.
Based on earlier attendance figures the event was a huge success, which the HRPC credits to the April show dates and another good turn out by our Canadian neighbors.
Raffle tickets were sold at the door for a custom built Model 22A pistol (first prize) won by Dennis Brakett, a single-shot 20-gauge shotgun (second prize) won by Doug Cameron, and a SWAT knife (third prize) won by Randy Johnson.
The HRPC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to safe recreational rifle and pistol shooting. The club shooting range is located at the Houlton International airport.
