PRESQUE ISLE — Has spring cleaning fever hit? Tired of using those same old dishes and want some cash to update your cupboards? Or maybe you’ve decided to use the garage for storing the car instead of whatever those unidentified boxes contain. Then why not take part in an annual event that helps turn that unwanted clutter into treasures for some other household?     “The Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring our annual City-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 8 a.m. Rain date has been scheduled for June 6,” said Theresa Fowler, PIACC executive director.
While the registration deadline to be on the map was May 14, the public is still encouraged to take part in the annual sale. Maps will be ready for distribution beginning May 26 and will be available at area businesses and the Chamber.
This is just one of many fun activities taking place during the city’s year-long Sesquicentennial Celebration. Whether you’re looking to make a few bucks by selling unwanted items during these tough economic times or looking for ways to save money and appreciate the value of slightly-used merchandise, this event provides just such opportunities.
