Members of the Caribou Lioness Club and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will be hosting a Sesquicentennial Queens’ Tea, honoring past Miss Caribou Queens, on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chan Center.
Committee members are still seeking the location or information on a number of past Miss Caribou Queens and would appreciate any assistance from the public in notifying them.
The community is invited to come to the Chan Center for a cup of tea or coffee, taste finely baked refreshments provided by local Caribou cooks, meet the queens and enjoy a time of entertainment and socializing.
Video selections, picture collages and memorabilia will fill the room bringing back many thrilling and joyous memories for these women and their families.
The Queens’ Tea Committee members would like to emphasize that fathers, husbands, uncles, brothers and cousins are also encouraged to attend with all the ladies of the family.
Following the program, the queens will be escorted to Skyway Plaza where they will be assigned to the floats they will grace during the Sesquicentennial Parade.
Tickets for this event are $3 in advance or $5 at the door on the day of the tea. Tickets will be available the first of August and may be purchased at the Caribou Chamber of Commerce and Industry office, Food Trend, One Stop and from any Lioness or Beta Sigma Phi member.
The Queens’ Tea Committee has had good luck in contacting 51 past queens, but are still searching for the names and addresses of the following Miss Caribou title holders.
