Dionne, Ernest B., 85, Caribou, in Caribou, May 30, 2009. Friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with evening military service being held at 7 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

 

ImageImage    CARIBOU – Ernest B. Dionne, 85, husband of Marie Anne (Dube) Dionne died May 30, 2009 at Caribou. He was born at Madawaska, November 15, 1923 the son of Eloie and Marquerite (Cyr) Dionne. He was a graduate of the Madawaska high school and served with the US Army during WWII. Ernest was employed at Aroostook Federation of Farmers for 22 years and also with Agway, Inc. for 19 years. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he was also a Eucharistic Minister, an Offertory Minister, a Funeral Acolyte Minister, and a Hospitality Minister and also helped in money counting.  He also served as president of the Catholic Golden Age for 20 years. He was a life member of the Lister-Knowlton Post #9389 VFW. Ernest married Marie Anne (Dube) Dionne on December 29, 1947.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife of Caribou, are two sons Donald N. Dionne and his wife Debby of Braden, FL and George J. Dionne and his wife Linda of Lakeland, FL; one daughter Anne M. Davenport and her husband Dannie of Tinker, NB, Canada; two sisters Marie Anne Perusse of Edmundston, NB, Canada and Therese Patterson of Salem, NH; three grandchildren Alicia, Johnathan and Miranda; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by five brothers, Lewis, Edmund, Gerard, Eugene and Henry Dionne; four sisters Esther Albert, Alma Dionne, Mona Dionne and Alice Crandell. 
    Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou  Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with evening military services being held at 7 p.m. by the officers and members of the VFW.  Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will take place in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Ernest may do so to the Cary Jefferson Foundation, P.O.
