In Bangor on Saturday, schools met for the 2009 PVC track and field championship. Caribou and Presque Isle teams represented the county and, for the girls, Caribou placed fifth out of nine with 43 points.

Leading the girls race walk in Bangor on Saturday is Lady Viking Hannah Saunders. Not only did Saunders finish in first, but she set a new record, finishing the event nearly 19 seconds earlier than the previous record holder, Mahal Stewart.
Hannah Saunders led her team in the 1,600 Race Walk, destroying the previous record of 7:59.39 set in 2003 by Mahal Stewart of Narraguagus. Saunders finished the event in a shocking 7:40.67, taking first in that event. The Wildcat girls track team finished sxith with 34 points. The Caribou boys took fourth out of nine schools with 78 points while Presque Isle’s team finished ninth with 16 points.
