EASTON – A two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon sent a Monticello man to the hospital with a broken leg.
Maine State Police received a report of an accident on the Station Rd. at approximately 2:50 p.m.     “The accident occurred on the Station Rd. in front of Ferris One Stop. Reed Clark, 25, of Presque Isle, was driving north in a 2001 GMC truck owned by Buck’s Construction. Keith Joslyn, 32, of Monticello, was traveling south in his 1997 GMC pick-up truck,” said Trooper Jeff Clark, MSP, the investigating officer. “Clark attempted to make a left-hand turn into Ferris in front of Joslyn. The two vehicles struck nearly head-on.”
According to Trooper Clark, both drivers were alone. Joslyn was the more seriously injured of the two.
“Clark was not wearing a seatbelt. We’re not sure if Joslyn was wearing his. Both airbags deployed. Joslyn was transported by Crown Ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center for treatment of a broken leg. Family transported Clark, who was complaining of head and arm pains, to the hospital to be checked out,” said Trooper Clark.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the incident.
“No charges have been brought,” Trooper Clark said.
Easton Fire Department and Trooper Rob Flynn assisted at the scene. Cowett’s Towing Service, of Presque Isle, towed Clark’s vehicle. Brewer’s Service, of Mars Hill, was contacted to remove Joslyn’s truck from the scene.
    The case remains under investigation.
