WRIGHT, Garfield Linwood, 87, Caribou, at Caribou, September 13, 2009. Private family services will be held at a later date at the New Holy Rosary Cemetery.  Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

 

Image    Caribou – Garfield Linwood Wright, 87, died September 13, 2009, at Caribou following a brief illness. He was born in Caribou November 9, 1921, the son of the late Roy and Evangeline (Kelley) Wright. Garfield attended the Madawaska Road Country School, was a member of the Future Farmers of America and farmed on his family homestead on the Madawaska Road. He graduated from Caribou High School, Class of 1940. In 1950, he was employed by the Birds Eye Division of General Foods, where he also engaged in several advancement courses of quality control, supervisory practices, and production and sanitation supervisor. While employed at Birds Eye the business change hands and became Northern Processors, and American Kitchen Foods. He remained in frozen food production until his retirement from Potato Service Inc. in 1983. He married Mary Edwina Theriault November 7, 1943. Garfield loved to hunt, fish, snowshoe, garden and just be outside in nature. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Cary Seniority program. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and friend and he especially loved family get togethers, and he will be sadly missed.
    Surviving in addition to his wife of over 65 years, Mary Edwina Wright of Caribou are his two daughters, Nancy L. Wright Beaver of Woodland and Ellen M. Wright Hofmann of Oklahoma, three grandsons, Jonathan R. Hofmann and Michael G. Hofmann both of Oklahoma and Nathan D. Beaver and his wife Teresa of Caribou, a granddaughter Kimberly L. Beaver Geer and her partner Jay Roy of Caribou, four great-grandsons, Ashton Beaver, Alexander Beaver, Andrew Geer and Parker Roy, one great-granddaughter, Sadie Roy, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Wright was predeceased by a brother Albert, and two sisters, Margaret Wright and Mildred  Leona Watson.
    Private family services will be held at a later date at the New Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Wright may do so through the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Dept. 121 High St. or the Caribou Public Library, 30 High St., Caribou, Maine 04736.
