LIMESTONE – Gertrude A. Franck, 72, passed away Friday, September 11, 2009, at Cary Medical Center in Caribou. She was born September 1, 1937, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Patrick and Annette (Daigle) Franck. Gertrude was a graduate of Limestone High School and worked at Converse Shoe in Presque Isle. She was a very kind and caring lady who loved getting together with friends. She enjoyed doing plastic crafts, was an avid knitter as well as cooking for church socials. Gertrude was a communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church as well as a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
Gertrude is survived by five brothers: Ronald and his wife Marjorie of Greenville, NC, Camille of Limestone, Thomas and his wife Georgette of Rivere-du-loup, Quebec, Gerard and his wife Phyllis of Placerville, CA, Paul and his wife Bernadette of Santa Clarita, CA, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister-in-law Geraldine Franck.
Friends called 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Interment took place at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
