The Maine Winter Sports Center is hosting the second annual Harvest Classic on Sunday, Sept. 20 in Caribou. The Harvest Classic is a bicycle race and tour open to all ages and abilities.
The Northern Skiers’ Club will be hosting a 20-mile bike tour and a 40-mile bike race. The tour is a loop around the roads of Caribou and surrounding towns. It is not a timed event, so riders are welcome to take all the time they need to complete the tour.

The 40-mile event is a two-lap race starting at Caribou High School and looping through the “Alps of Caribou,” passing through Carson, Perham and Woodland. The loop is on back roads with very light traffic. Prizes will be awarded to the top riders in the race.
Registration for the race is 7:30 a.m. at the Caribou High School parking lot. Start time is 9 a.m. for the 40-mile race.
No pre-registration necessary, all registration will be day of the event. Cost is $12 or $10 with a donation of an old pair of used running shoes to the MWSC shoe recycling program. Shoes will be collected on the morning of the event. All proceeds from the race will be given to the Northern Skiers’ Club junior athlete fund.
