Museum to close summer season with public supper

    The Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton will host a roast beef supper on Saturday, Oct. 3, to end its summer season.
    The museum will be open for tours beginning at noon on Saturday and the supper will be served from 4:30 until 6 p.m. The entrée is roast beef with a variety of potatoes and vegetables with homemade rolls, desserts and beverages. The supper is $8 per person, a great meal of home cooked food.
    Come and visit the museum and see the barn and the Ross One-Room School. An added attraction will be the wall hanging designed by Rick Carpenter depicting Main Street in Houlton in the early 1900s.
    If you would like to join the museum organization, membership fees are: Single, $20; Family, $30; Sodbuster, $50; Thresher, $100; Farmer of the Year, $250, or a Lifetime Membership $750 a couple or $500 for a single. A membership entitles a person to four newsletters a year and free admittance to the museum.
    The gymnasium, with kitchen facilities is also available to rent for private functions. Call 538-9583 for rates.
