Beginning Friday, Oct. 2 the pictures are once again available for viewing at the Sesquicentennial Celebration Center located in the former Rainbow Books and Crafts site in the downtown mall.

Caribou Sesquicentennial Committee members Dot Wakem and John Swanberg stand amongst some of the old photographs, recently reprinted in large scale, that have been on display throughout the city’s 150th Birthday Celebration.
The Celebration Center will be open every Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to showcase these treasured photographs, depicting life in Caribou over the past 150 years. The series will become part of a Silent Auction during this time.
Bidders wishing to purchase one (or more) of these treasured pictures will be assigned a bidding number by volunteers working at the center. Once having received this bidding number individuals may write down their designated bid price on sheets corresponding with each picture. All bids are confidential, as no one other than committee volunteers will have access to the number assignment process.
Bidders may enter bids as many times as possible from Oct. 2 through Dec. 5. The winning silent auction bidders will be determined on Thursday, Dec. 10.

There are more than 40 of these unique historic pictures available to be bid upon. Don’t miss a chance to secure your favorite to display in your home, to give to a business or bestow upon a friend or family member who has ties to the particular scene or location.
