The Central Aroostook Soil & Water Conservation District will present recent results of the 2009 Christina Reservoir watershed survey on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the Francis Malcolm Science Center in Easton. The goal of this event is to bring together local landowners, town officials and resource professionals to discuss actions that need to be taken to help improve the water quality of both Christina Reservoir and the Upper Prestile Stream. The meeting will also feature a summary of the 2009 Watershed-Based Management Plan for the Upper Prestile Stream and provide updates on other watershed planning activities, including a new Stormwatch program and recent funding to conduct a watershed survey for Williams Brook in 2010. Input from area residents is greatly encouraged to help guide future planning activities. Food and beverages will be provided. Residents of Fort Fairfield, Easton, Westfield, Mars Hill, Blaine, Bridgewater and Presque Isle are encouraged to attend. All are welcome.
If interested, contact Jennifer Jespersen at 215-8506 or e-mail at jenj@fbenvironmental.com and indicate whether you will be attending the meeting or to request a copy of the Upper Prestile Stream Watershed-Based Management Plan.
