NEW SWEDEN, Maine — The Reverend T. Daniel Clayborne was officially installed as the nineteenth pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church in New Sweden on Oct. 4 during a special service at the church located at 40 Westmanland Rd. Rev. Howard Burgoyne, superintendent of the East Coast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church officiated at the installation.
Rev. Clayborne is a graduate of Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Center, Mass., where he earned a master of divinity degree. He also earned a BA from Assumption College in Worchester, Mass., and a MBA from Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. He has previously served churches in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Reverend Clayborne and his wife, Nancy, are residing in New Sweden.
The Evangelical Covenant Church in New Sweden was founded in 1886 by Swedish immigrants and is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, a denomination of over 785 congregations across the United States and Canada. The installation service took place under the auspices of the Covenant’s East Coast Conference, a regional mission embracing and supporting the ministry of Covenanters in twelve states and 69 Covenant churches, seven new church planting missions, a mission to New England Seafarers in Boston and Providence and Pilgrim Pines Conference Center and Camp Squanto in Swanzey, New Hampshire.
