PI seventh, CA ninth at state meet

    VASSALBORO — Golfers from Presque Isle, Central Aroostook and Fort Fairfield competed in the team state championships at Natanis Golf Course Saturday.

    KAINE KINGSBURY of the Central Aroostook Panthers shot an impressive score of 83 at Saturday’s state golf championships, held at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro.

    In Eastern Class B, Presque Isle had a solid showing, finishing seventh out of 12 squads, while in Class C, Central Aroostook finished ninth and Fort Fairfield was 14th.
    Playing on the Tomahawk course at Natanis, team scores from the Class B championship were: York, 311; Falmouth, 328; Yarmouth, 329; Cape Elizabeth, 330; Waterville, 342; Belfast, 348; Presque Isle, 350; Mattanawcook Academy, 358; Camden Hills, 360; Lincoln Academy, 369; Leavitt, 370; and Ellsworth, 370.
    Individual scoring on the 18-hole course for the Wildcats, were Evan Waddell, 84; Jordan Hallett, 85; Travis Dyer, 89; Alex Tuttle, 93; and Keenan Eaton, 101.
    In the Class C championship, played on the Arrowhead course, team scores were: Houlton, 318; Saint Dominic, 322; North Yarmouth Academy, 324; Winthrop, 334; Madison, 340; Penobscot Valley, 346; George Stevens Academy, 366; Livermore Falls, 372; Central Aroostook, 374; Calais, 381; Greenville, 382; Deer Isle-Stonington, 385; Jonesport-Beals, 392; and Fort Fairfield, 421.
    Scoring for Central Aroostook was: Kaine Kingsbury, 83; Will Delong, 92; Logan McLaughlin, 93; Abe Brewer, 106; and Tim Lawrence, 155.
    Scoring for Fort Fairfield was: Josh Churchill, 102; Tyler Churchill, 104; William Weissman, 105; Landon Towle, 110; and Ian Girvan, 114.
