Spud summer racing season ends

    CARIBOU — Spud Speedway was bustling with activity Sept. 28. The following drivers were crowned Spud 2009 champions: Young Guns, Nate Haney, Caribou; Northern Lights, Galen Morrow, Limestone; Fast 4’s, Austin Theriault; Fort Kent; Street Stock, Bobby Anderson, Limestone; Super Street, Milo Haney, Connor; and Late Model, Jerry Williams, Limestone.
    Official finishes from the final event of the summer at the local track were:
    Young Guns — 1, Nate Haney, Caribou; 2, Connor Thibeau, Fort Fairfield; 3, Dillon MacDougal, Fort Fairfield; 4, Devin Berry, Van Buren; and 5, Brandon York, Fort Fairfield.
    Northern Lights — 1, Justin Brymer, Centreville, New Brunswick; 2, Curtis Picard, St. Agatha; 3, Clarence Barrett, Clearview, New Brunswick; 4, Ralph Levesque, Mars Hill; and 5, Bob Rankin, Stockholm.
    Fast 4’s — 1, Austin Theriault, Fort Kent; 2, Matt Farnham, Mapleton; 3, Rick Saucier, Eagle Lake; 4, Steve Theriault, Fort Kent; and 5, Roy Crawford, Houlton.
    Street Stock — 1, Bobby Anderson, Limestone; 2, Shawn Hamel, Bangor; 3, Derek Finnemore, Mapleton; 4, Jon Dixon, Presque Isle; and 5, William Barker, Caswell.
