Mapleton Daze Committee to deliver calendars Sunday

    The Mapleton Daze Committee will be delivering its community calendars Sunday, Nov. 15 starting at 3:30 p.m. The Committee is going to be assisted by members of Presque Isle High School’s National Honor Society. If paying with a check, please have them made out to the Mapleton Daze Committee. Hoping for Birthday Cards

Harvest Supper
    The State Road Advent Christian Church will be hosting its annual harvest supper Saturday, Nov. 14 at the church at 5:30 p.m. Plan to attend to enjoy a terrific meal and wonderful fellowship!
MPO News
    The movie night held Oct. 30, sponsored by the Mapleton Parent Organization, was a huge success! Organizers estimated 100 students and their families attended the evening (in their pajamas) to view the movie, “Hotel for Dogs.” The MPO wishes to thank all that attended, especially the faculty and staff from the school that helped make the night so much fun!
    Mark your calendars! The Mapleton Parent Organization will be sponsoring its annual fall Book Fair beginning Tuesday, Nov. 17, running through Tuesday, Nov. 24, during parent/teacher conferences. Students will be able to visit the fair during the school week to make their own purchases, as well as to create their “wish list” to take home. If grandparents choose to attend the annual Book Fair Grandparent Luncheon Wednesday, Nov. 18, the wish list will be helpful to start holiday shopping! The school will be sending home more information regarding the special luncheon, along with a request to RSVP, so watch for more details in the coming days.
    If you shop at Hannaford stores, please save your receipts! Hannaford collects receipts at the front of their stores for specific schools and towns. Employees tally those receipts and based on the purchases, sends checks to those schools! The deadline for Mapleton is Dec. 6. Store receipts can also be sent to school with students prior to the deadline. Thank you for your support!
    The next Mapleton Parent Organization meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the art room at the school. Any parent of a Mapleton Elementary School student is encouraged to attend!
Coats for Kids
    The Presque Isle FFA Chapter is currently collecting winter coats for children and teens in our communities. If you have a clean coat or jacket in good condition and would like to donate it, please contact Aaron Buzza at aaron.buzza@sad1.org or at 764-7725. Donations can also be dropped off at the Presque Isle Regional Career and Technical Center (located behind the high school near the Superintendent’s Office), at the main office of the high school, and at the SAD 1 School Farm. Donations are being accepted until Nov. 20. The students of the Presque Isle High School FFA Chapter thank you, in advance, for your support!
Pageants Sponsor Needed
    If anyone is interested in taking over the sponsorship of the Little Miss, Junior Miss, and Miss Mapleton pageants, please feel free to contact the Town Office at 764-3754.
Castle Hill Grange Hall Preservation Society
    Society members will be selling VIP tickets for the Aroostook Centre Mall again this year. Tickets will be $3 and shopping will take place Sunday, Nov. 15. Special sales will be held throughout the Mall. Please see any member to purchase your tickets. All profits will benefit the Society.
Mapleton United Methodist Church Luncheon
    The United Methodist Church luncheon will be held Friday, Nov. 13 at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
