Firefighter I/EMT Richard Learnard, 39, and a paid-call member has been with the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department for seven years. “After seeing first-hand what the CFD provides our city for fire, rescue and medical support, I knew I wanted to be an active member of this department,” said Firefighter Richard. Employed as a pharmacy technician at Cary Medical Center, Learnard and his wife, Twyla are residents of Caribou. Other interests of the firefighter/EMT include computer programming and repairs and also downhill skiing.
Firefighter Richard would like members of the community to understand, “That our (CFAD) is implicitly dedicated day or night, 24/7 to ‘our’ citizens and all the communities we serve and provide mutual aid to and for. Our department is ready and available to respond to any and all emergency situations. We (CFAD) are here for you in your times of need.”
