Michael F. Kelske

ImageImage    CARIBOU – Michael Frank Kelske, 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 20, 2009, at a Caribou hospital from an unexpected illness. Michael was born on April 8, 1947, in Freeport, Long Island, New York, the only child of Michael and Edna Kelske. In 1959, he and his parents moved to San Francisco. He would continue to live in the Bay area until 2000, when he moved with his partner to Maine. Michael proudly served his country on Midway Island during the Vietnam War. During his life he worked in real estate, restaurant management, and retail service management. He was most recently employed at Save-A-Lot and Paradis’ Shop ‘n Save, both in Caribou. 
    Michael is survived by his partner of twenty years, Brent Hixon of Caribou; two daughters, Jennifer and Kristin, both living in the San Francisco Bay area; his mother-in-law, Brenda Hixon of Freeport, Maine; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken and his wife Kelli Hixon of Westmanland, Maine, Randy and Diana Hixon of Bath, Chris and Lori Stilkey of Freeport, Maine, Joy Hixon of Freeport Maine.
    There will be a private remembrance with family members at a future date.  Michael would have wanted donations to be made in his name to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 24 Cross St. , Presque Isle, ME 04769. Friends may express their condolences at www.lancastermorgan.com.
