It was tea time for mild-mannered tiny tots recently at the Caribou Public Library when Jean Shaw, children’s librarian hosted a tea party for 3-year-old members of the Mother Goose Library Program.

During the mid-morning gathering, the young guests had fun learning about the importance of having good manners and saying please and thank you. Following a story time the visitors had a chance to show off their manners as they poured and shared tea (apple juice) and crumpets (graham crackers).

Dressed in her tea party finest, Ellie Martin enjoyed a spot of tea during a children’s tea party program at the Caribou Public Library. Young library-goers, participants in the Mother Goose program, learned all about manners, saying please and thank you and of course learning the proper way to enjoy a small cup of tea.

Just me and my mom. Kristi Russell enjoyed tea for two with her son Ian during the Mother Goose Tea Party held at the Caribou Public Library. The program is one of many hosted by Jean Shaw, children’s libraian. During the special events young library visitors are introduced to the magic of books and reading, as well as participate in hands-on learning offered through the variety of programs created for this age level.
