Akerson, Chester L., 91, Perham and Caribou, at Caribou, January 24, 2010. Family and friends may meet January 30, at the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou, from 12 noon until time of services, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home.

 

Image    PERHAM AND CARIBOU – Chester L. Akerson, 91, died January 24, 2010, at Caribou.  He was born at Perham, July 15, 1918, the son of Charles and Christine (Dahlin) Akerson.  Chester was self-employed, farming in the local area for many years, farming into his 80’s. He was also employed at McCain Foods for several years. He loved spending time at his camp on Mud Lake. He was a loving and devoted husband and father to his family.  Chester married Arline (Edstrand) Akerson on August 14, 1941.
    Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years, of Caribou are one son, Richard Akerson and his wife, Dorea of Caribou and their children, Shannon, Travis and Danielle; three daughters, Kathie Woodcock and her husband, Neil of Lancaster, CA and their children, Alicia and Rachael; Christine Finemore and her husband, Bim of Bridgewater and their children, Louis and Katie, and Pamela Wilcox and her husband, Donald of Washburn and their children, Tray and Adam; two sisters, Vivian Everitt and Lula Foss both of Fort Fairfield; eight great-grandchildren, Tristin, Aiden, Dyllan, Alicia, Eric, Kayla, Kenna and baby Jacob; a daughter-in-law, Tina Akerson of Falmouth and her children, Linda, Lisa and Richey. He was predeceased by a son, Arthur and by two brothers, John and Melford Akerson.
    Family and friends may meet with the family, Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou,  from 12 noon until time of services, which will be held 2 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Lawrence Beals, officiating.  Spring interment will take place at the Fairview Cemetery, Perham.
