The Houlton Council 1873 of the Knights of Columbus crowned seven boys and girls from the ages of 10-14 as local free throw champions on Jan. 10 in Hodgdon. The winners earned the right to compete at the District level.
Kristen Graham was the 10-year-old girl’s champion, with Kaitlyn Condon crowned the girl’s 11-year-old champion and Breanna Longstaff claiming the girl’s 14-year-old championship.
In the boy’s division, Cameron Graham was named the 11-year-old champ, while Kyle Bouchard earned the 12-year-old championship. Jacob Condon was crowned the boy’s 13-year-old champion, while Robert Rockwell was the boy’s 14-year-old winner.
Runners-up for boys were: age 11, Daden Palmer; age 12, Parker Brewer and age 14, Nick Guiod. Girls runners-up was in the age 14 category, Mariah Wiley.
The Knights of Columbus thank SAD 70 for the use of their gym and extend a special thank you to coach Jerry Adams for his assistance in making sure the competition ran smoothly and to his Hodgdon Hawks varsity basketball team for their support in providing assistance to the competitors.
