Hemphill places 4th at swim meet

ORONO — The Presque Isle boys and girls swim teams participated in the Class B State Championship Saturday and Monday at the University of Maine at Orono. The Greely boys and girls of Cumberland both captured titles.
The Wildcat girls, who competed Monday, came in 15th place with 36 points, while the PI boys, whose meet was Saturday, was 21st with six points. A total of 26 girls teams and 24 boys teams participated.
Presque Isle’s Erica Hemphill garnered a fourth-place finish in the 50 freestyle. Her time was 26.85 seconds. She was also ninth in the 100 fly with a time of 1:09.73.
The individual Wildcat girls results were:
200 medley relay — 15, Presque Isle (Shae Adler, Grace Short, Erica Hemphill and Dara Raymond) 2:16.77.
50 free —4, Hemphill, 26.85.
100 fly — 9, Hemphill, 1:09.73.
200 free relay – 13, Presque Isle (Short, Rilee Elliott-Currie, Adler and Hemphill), 1:59.94.
The individual Wildcat boys results were:
400 free relay — 14, Presque Isle (Ethan York, Stephen Goulet, Locke Robbins and Brock Cassidy) 4:45.53.
