Maine Veterans Homes residents recently presented a play in the Residential Unit dining room. Thirteen members of the residential care unit including Cyndy Duplessi, PSS/Activities cross-trainee, kneeling performed for the staff and other residents. From left are: Doris Blanchette who portrayed a waitress who showers her customers with kindness and expected a tip. Vespa Johnson as Willa, Boss Managers wife, as a spoiled wife with lots of jewels; Richard Levesque who played a restaurant patron waiting for his meal of lobster, scallops and shrimp while the other characters argued over the bus bumper being busted. Leroy Johnson, as the boss of ‘Ralph Cramden’ who was making Cramden pay for the bumper he busted. Paul Haley as Jackie Gleason's TV character Ralph Cramden, who hit a blind man with his bus and is trying to put the blame on someone else stating, "I didn't do it". Fred Becker a close friend of Johnson’s who played a restaurant patron who believed his friend Cramden did run the blind man down and Dennis Theriault as another patron waiting for his meal. The story idea was created by Rita Worley, activities coordinator for the MVH residential care unit.
