    Shorey, Gertrude May, 90, CARIBOU, in Eagle Lake, March 23, 2010. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Southside Cemetery, Mapleton. Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home. 


 

    CARIBOU – Gertrude May Shorey, 90, wife of the late Gordon Shorey, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, March 23, 2010, at Eagle Lake.  She was born at Castle Hill, November 16, 1919, the daughter of Frank and Ellen (Gardner) Cray. Gertrude was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a member of the Caribou Assembly of God Church.
    She is survived by a son, Calvin Shorey and his wife, Cheryldene “Deanie” of Woodland; two daughters, Betty Shorey of Eagle Lake and Joyce Petriw and her husband, Michael of Vero Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Wayne and Dale Shorey; three brothers, David, Robert and Beverley Cray; three sisters, Florence Beem, Doris Farley and Edith True.
    Graveside services will be held in the spring at the South Side Cemetery, Mapleton and will be announced in the Bangor Daily News, by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to contribute in memory of Gertrude may do so to the Caribou Assembly of God Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 907, Caribou, ME 04736.
