PRESQUE ISLE — A local man was arrested and charged with possession of sexually explicit material, following a joint investigation by the FBI and the Presque Isle Police Department.
Grivois
“As the result of an investigation based on information from the FBI, Gary Grivois, 55, of Presque Isle, was arrested for possession of sexually explicit material,” said Det. Bill Scull, PIPD, who assisted the FBI in investigating the case.
Scull said under Maine law, a person commits possession of sexually explicit material if that person intentionally or knowingly possesses any book, magazine, newspaper, print negative, slide, motion picture, computer data file, videotape or other mechanically, electronically or chemically reproduced visual image or material that the person knows or should know depicts another person engaging in sexually explicit conduct, and the other person has not in fact attained 12 years of age or the person knows or has reason to know that the other person has not attained 12 years of age.
“A violation of this law is a Class C felony,” explained Scull.
Grivois’s bail was set at $500 cash or $5,000 surety. Grivois posted bail and is expected to appear in Aroostook County Superior Court on June 17.
