WINNERS – Winners of Houlton High School’s Science Fair are, from left to right, front, Melissa Peabody, Daniel Swallow, Darrell Hanning, Cody Woods, Jesse Willigar, Alishia Ledger, Danielle Daigle, Tyler Delano, Nick Chase, Ian Gervais, Katie Cone, Jacob Henderson, Patrick Graham and Alana Smith; back, Hunter Hanning, Allie Carmichael, Marina DiMarco, Tara Beals, Abby Kinens, Emily DeWitt and Chelsi Murray. The overall winners of the Science Fair were: first, Chelsi Murray with her project on Jatropha Seeds, while second place was held by Marina DiMarco, Tyler Delano and Danielle Daigle with their project on How Does A Rider’s Center Of Gravity Travel? And, taking third was Alana Smith with Intelligence vs. Music.
The Science Fair was also divided into five individual divisions — biology, chemistry, earth science, physics and psychology. Within these divisions, top three winners were chosen.

Earth Science: First, Jacob Henderson, Water Purification; second, Allie Carmichael, Filtration; and third, Hunter Hanning and Darrell Hanning, Heat From Wood.
