Grade 4
Dawn F. Barnes Elementary School
What I think about homework is that the teachers give us students the work and we get it done, get the other students, and send us to the next room. I went around the Caswell School asking all the teachers why they think we need so much homework.
Mrs. Blanchett said “so that they can practice what they have learned up front on the board and overhead.”
Mrs. Bersette said “so they can keep up with the Japanese and how smart they are.”
Mr. O’Neal said “homework is an opportunity for students to practice what they have learned and teachers have taught them and it tells them if what they have learned they understand.”
Mrs. Nancy said “to help the students practice what they have learned and to understand it and how they did on it.”
And the last teacher is Mr. Hartman and he said “to just learn and that’s what home is to learn and practice what you have learned and what you get on it is what counts.”
March 2nd math homework was not that hard and it was in the fifth grade math book. It was how to tell the temperature.
March 3rd homework was fractions and that was somewhat hard and easy.
Homework is something hard and other times is easy when you did it before and you are reviewing or testing. Then you get into fifth grade. People told me that it will be harder than ever.
What I think is that you get your work done and finish school and get a good job and a house.
