HOULTON — The Northern Maine Distilling Company of Houlton announced Wednesday, April 7 that its ultra-premium Twenty 2 Micro Distilled Vodka has been honored with a gold medal for vodka in the 2010 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
“We’re thrilled to receive this prestigious recognition for superior quality from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition” said Scott Galbiati, president and co-founder of the Northern Maine Distilling Company. “This award is a stamp of approval from industry and tasting experts that our vodka is of true superior quality”.
This gold medal marks the second international recognition for Twenty 2 Micro Distilled Vodka despite being on the shelf for only six months, joining a bronze for vodka in the 2010 World Beverage Competition held in Geneva Switzerland.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the first comprehensive and international spirits judging held annually in the United States. Spirits submitted from around the world were rated by an expert panel of judges at the Hotel Nikko located in downtown San Francisco on March 13-14. Entrants of the San Francisco World Spirits Competitions are subjected to blind taste tests and are awarded medals based on taste alone. This is the 10th year the San Francisco World Spirits Competition has rated spirits, and has become the premier annual spirits competition. For more information, visithttp://www.sfspiritscomp.com/
