Preserving the present for the future

To the editor:
As we go through life taking part in many family activities, we should stop and think that our present will some day be our future.     The Caribou Historical Society needs people to step forward to help preserve this present for our future generations as past generation have done for us.
Our current quarters are over-crowded and we need space to protect the Conestoga wagon used in the Sesquicentennial Parade, farm machinery that have been donated by farmers on the condition that we cover them and we still need to better display the 10,000 items we already have. We need to build a barn 40 feet by 60 feet to accomplish all this and this means we need your help.
You can help preserve this present for the future for your children and grandchildren. The Caribou Historical Society is one of few places that can research the past for them.
Yes, we need you because your help will make the difference of a strong Historical Society preserving the present or we will end up with no Historical Society at all.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 20. There will be a light meal at 6 p.m. followed by our regular meeting at 7 p.m. Hopefully, we can count on you for a new face with new ideas. We look forward to seeing you. For more information, call me at 498-6562.
