UMPI’s Harding, Korhonen named top athletes
The University of Maine at Presque Isle held its annual athletic awards ceremony last Tuesday, May 4 at the Campus Center.
Highlighting the event was the announcement of the Male and Female Athletes of the Year. The recipients were Corey Harding, a senior soccer and baseball player from Plymouth, and Megan Korhonen, a junior volleyball and basketball player from Littleton.
Receiving the Al Arman “Make A Difference” Awards were Chad Parker of Truro, Nova Scotia and Melinda Sullivan of Lisbon. The Ruel Parks Coaches Award went to Emily Moore of Lisbon. Hannah Shepard of Yarmouth earned the Stanley H. Small Coaches Award.
Hannah Hopkins of Halifax, Nova Scotia was named Athletic Training Student of the Year and Paul Rucci of Millinocket was the recipient of the Athletic Training Rising Star Award.
Most Valuable Players, Most Inspirational Awards and Rookie of the Year Awards were named in all the sports as follows:
