Leader Joyce Estey read a letter from our representative Janice Cote about future meetings. A workshop will be Saturday, June 12 at the First Baptist Church. The meeting will honor treasurers. A paper was distributed by Charlotte Marley for each to put their notation about our treasurer, Janette Nelson. Janette led in five minutes of exercises.
Joyce, Barbara Grant, Charlotte Marley and Brenda Lacostic all had comments about the coming event — the workshop our chapter will host.

Ricker Rumblings
By Lois Downing
Hello everyone! Hope everyone has a lovely holiday weekend. I’ve been away visiting my daughter, Kathryn Hall, who was given a birthday party, which I attended and had the pleasure of seeing my only brother Paul of Westbrook.
We are saddened by the death of Eugene Byron, who lived here and died Thursday morning. He was the perfect mate for Lavina and we feel sad that she has lost her mate. Eugene was a very quiet man, solid and steady. We will miss him.
We were also saddened to learn that Shirley Ellis died. Shirley lived at Gardiner Nursing Facility in Houlton. She was a tenant here for many years, on the first floor. One of her sisters lived on the third floor. Shirley was very stylish, played cards with us and was a nice neighbor. She will also be missed.
I attended the funeral for my sister-in-law, Freda Polk, in Calais with son Paul and grandson Patrick of Wakefield, Mass. Freda was my husband’s only sister, and we will miss her too, especially her phone calls. She was full of life and knew everyone. God bless.
Several of the ladies attended the 35th annual appreciation celebration of Aroostook RSVP. I was given a beautiful coverlet for 15 years of service, a complete surprise. Thank you to RSVP.
Helen Brewer is now a patient at Madigan Estates having moved from Ricker recently. We will miss Helen and as always, God bless.
Isn’t the weather beautiful? Except for the recent storm, the days are pretty and green. We had a couple of really warm days but that is all behind us now.
Elinor Schenk has been at the family cottage at Timoney Lake for the weekend. Elinor has recently had eye surgery.
Here is my gospel quote for the week: “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” (Mark 13:10)
Have a wonderful week.
