Pitch, Hit, and Run Results

    Five Presque Isle youths traveled to Freeport to take part in the state Pitch Hit and Run Competition. Connor Demerchant was the highest overall finisher, tallying 395 points, good for fourth place in the 7-8 year-old division. Chase Langley totaled 200 points in the same division. Jaren Winger scored 487 points in the 9-10 year-old division, and Bradley Kinney and Khasen Lowe finished with respective scores of 489 and 565 in the 11-12 year-old division. 

 

Youth soccer registration

    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will begin registration for its youth soccer program at the William V. Haskell Community Center on Wednesday, July 7.
    The program is offered to boys and girls entering grades 1-6 this fall. The registration fee is $18.
    Schedules and rosters will be handed out at the community center Tuesday, Aug. 10, with play beginning Aug. 23 for grades 1-2 and the week of Aug. 17 for grades 3-6.

 
Presque Isle Indoor Pool

    The Presque Isle Indoor Pool has started their summer hours. General swim hours are Monday through Friday from 1-2:45 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 7-8:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1-3:45 p.m. Summer lap swim hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:15 -8 a.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 6:15-8 a.m., Monday through Friday from noon-1 p.m. and 5-6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon-1 p.m.
    The pool is also offering a variety of swimming lessons. Call 764-2564 for more information.

 
Zumba classes

    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is offering Zumba classes each Tuesday and Thursday from 5:45-6:45 p.m. The drop-in fee is $6 for those who haven’t signed up for a member deal.
