Botting, Gladys E., 92, June 23, 2010.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment held in the Merrill Cemetery.
    MERRILL and HOULTON – Gladys Edwina (Ogden) Botting, 92, died June 23, 2010. She was born June 30, 1917, in Situate, R.I., the daughter of Walter Scott and Evelyn (Hanning) Odgen.
    When Gladys was three years old, the family returned to Cold Stream, New Brunswick, where she lived and grew up. She came to work in Houlton at age 17. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her life was devoted to caring for her family, which was her main joy in life, and was always ready to help in any way she could. She was very close to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, preparing many meals for the hired hands while she and Fielder owned the farm. Gladys worked at Shoe Factory, Houlton International and Aroostook County Jail, until her retirement.
    She is survived by her children, Leon Botting, and Kathleen Parks and husband, Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Judy Botting; stepchildren, Owen and Gloria Botting and Neal Botting; 11 grandchildren, Leon and his wife, Darlene Botting, Harlen and his wife, Linda Botting, Laurie Botting, Karen Prescott, Darcy Botting, Mike Willette, Jeffrey Parks, Kenneth and Neal Botting, Deanna Apualate; 15 great-grandchildren, Billie Jo Botting, T.J. and wife, Tracy Botting, Brent and Chad Botting, Stephanie Ivey, Savannah and  Issac Botting, Kenneth Prescott, Amanda Campbell, Michael Willette, Kenneth Dale Botting III, Jeremy, Jannell and Kyle Botting, Jarrid Willette, David Rideout, Ryan and Justin Botting; great-great-grandchildren, Deven, Jacob, Brooke, Nicholas, Amelia and Landon; special people, Al and Chris Kostuk; 13 step-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Fielder H. Botting; son, Kenneth Dale Botting; two grandsons, Fielder Alan Botting and Mark Willette; stepson, Ronald Botting; four brothers, Harry, Walter, Dean and Leon Odgen; and three sisters, Evelyn Verile, Hazel Blaise, and Norma Ryterski.
    Friends called 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield, where funeral services were held 11 a.m. with the Rev. Andy Harthorne officiating. Interment was in the Merrill Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton.
