The Cub Scouts of Pack 171, of Presque Isle, held their annual recruitment night on May 11. This year, they had a bike rodeo. Mark Fullen, from MoJo, came and spoke to the boys about bicycle safety and proper helmet wear. He also set up an obstacle course for the boys to try. A brand new bike helmet was raffled off and won by Caleb Ames. Fourteen boys and their siblings learned proper bike safety and enjoyed a night of bicycle riding. Presenting Fullen with a certificate of appreciation are, from left:  Spencer Bragan, Cub Scout leader; Fullen; Dave Foster, Web master; and Cub Scouts Jacob Foster and Trace Cyr.

CAR MANUFACTURING — In Cub Scouts the Scouts can earn “Arrow Points.”  In order to earn an Arrow Point, a Scout needs to complete 10 requirements per arrow. The Cub Scouts of Pack 171 in Presque Isle were very busy the past few weeks doing one of the 10 requirements toward an Arrow Point. The Cub Scouts made Cub Cars. They — along with parents and their leader — cut, sawed, drilled, painted and more. It was a lot of work but worth it in the end. Here, the boys and their dads are busy at work. Pictured, in front: Chase Quirion and his dad, Adam Woodsworth.  In the middle, three unidentified participants. In back: Trace Cyr and Garrett Morneault look on as Cub Scout Leader Kevin Young marks on of the boards for the boys.
